Within the community he is often referred to as, and has achieved status akin to, a guru.</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">At the prime age of 21 years old, Ron took an adventure of his life by moving from a little town in the backwoods of Wisconsin to the big cities of Central Florida. With less than $1000 bucks in his pocket (with no car, no apartment and no job)… he jumped on a plane and flew to an unknown territory!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The success which followed was extraordinary.</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">In 2002, Ron became an instrumental member of the Dale Carnegie Association’s Central Florida Chapter with his contagious enthusiasm. After completing the Dale Carnegie Course, Ron was asked to return as a Graduate Assistant to help others transform their lives just as he had. His testimonials were monumental.</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">Ron explains this time in his life as “a distinct method of becoming one’s self”.</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">“I didn’t take the journey to find myself&#8230; I took the journey to create myself.”  </span></span></span><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">– Ron Reed</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">And he did just that.</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">Shortly after 2003, Ron returned to Wisconsin to conquer new territories. Armed with his newly created sales and marketing abilities he ventured into the real estate industry. At first, Ron took a position within Wisconsin’s largest real estate firm, First Weber Group, as an Internet Referral Representative. While honing his real estate and internet skills, and absorbing new connections; Ron quickly learned the inside workings of a successful real estate brokerage.</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">In 2006, he took a leap of faith and entered the world as a professional real estate consultant. While the rest of the real estate market was slowly realizing a Buyer’s Market, Ron excelled as warp-speeds. In January 2007, within his first six months he became a member of First Weber Group’s President Club. Of over 1400 agents he was member of the top 25 in his first 6th months!</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">Later in 2007, while the real estate market was experiencing a steady decline, Ron started his year by becoming one of the nation’s semi-finalist in Season V of the </span><a href="http://www.realestateapprentice.com/"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">Real Estate Apprentice Foundation</span></a><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> for extraordinary performance.</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">If that wasn’t enough, in August of 2007, while the real estate market experienced its hardest decline in history, Ron was realizing his dream.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He was announced the “<strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">2007 Realtor on the Rise</strong>” as published in </span><a href="http://rismedia.com/2007-09-17/50-days-of-leaders-putting-the-pr-machine-to-work/"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">RIS Media’s National Real Estate</span></a><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> Magazine for his elite sales and marketing performance.</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">But, Ron wasn’t done yet. To close out 2007 with a bang, Ron was titled “Rookie of the Year” by closing 32 transactions in less than 12 months of his first full year in real estate. A feat only completed by the “<strong>Best of the BEST</strong>” within the real estate industry. </span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">Until then, Ron remained unaffected by the rapid decline in the real estate markets. However, he saw the slowing opportunity and decreased sales just as plain as everyone else. The writing was on the wall.</span></span></span><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">A new direction emerges</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Courier New';"><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">It was then that Ron Reed founded Suffix Marketing Group, LLC, an online publishing empire specializing in top-gun sales and marketing training for the Internet and Real Estate industries.</span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>

<p>I was *suppose* to put these audios/videos on my Web site as a lead in to an information marketing product, but, quite honestly, I was side-tracked by some other small business marketing idea and got distracted off to the next thing.</p>
<p>Well, the other day I found this series on an old hard drive and figured, &#8220;Hey &#8212; what the hell? Why not just give them away to my subscribers as a gift just to be cool?&#8221;.</p>
<p>(I actually found some other cool stuff too that I&#8217;ll post up here on my blog over the next few weeks and months, but I&#8217;ll tell you about that later.)</p>
<p>Anyway &#8212; when I found this series on an old hard drive the other day, I was stoked to share them with you.</p>
<p>Just press play here to listen to <strong>Small Business Marketing Ideas - Part 1 of 6</strong></p>

Last year I wrote an article titled &#8220;Top 20 Social Media Sites of 2008&#8230; Where Do You Rank??&#8221; where I spouted a prediction for 2009&#8230;

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">Last year I wrote an article titled &ldquo;<em><a href="http://www.whoisronreed.com/2008-list/top-20-social-media-sites-of-2008-where-do-you-rank" target="_blank" title="Top Social Media Sites of 2008">Top 20 Social Media Sites of 2008&hellip; Where Do You Rank??</a></em>&rdquo; where I spouted a prediction for 2009&hellip;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&hellip; the prediction was this: <strong>Twitter.com</strong> would have a percentage increase and user base similar to <strong>Facebook.com</strong> by the end of 2009. As it turns out, my prediction was correct. So, my first blog post of the year will be solely based on predictions for 2010 related to technology. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">Let&rsquo;s begin:</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;"><strong>#1 &ndash; Real-time vs. Batch</strong></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">In years past it was effective and efficient to run data through batch processing because the information wasn&rsquo;t needed immediately. However, in today&rsquo;s fast paced world we are rapidly moving towards the need for real-time information. For example, Twitter. I&rsquo;ve found that I can get real-time news from Twitter faster than I can get it from other sources like newspapers, articles and even online media like CNN.com. In fact, lately I&rsquo;ve been using Twitter and Facebook for the sole purpose of getting real-time feedback and news updates.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">Batch is the process of a business waiting until the end of the week (or month) to collect data from customer reports, billing, etc. This is &ldquo;batch processing&rdquo;. There is an obvious gap between when the information is generated and when the information is understood. In traditional business, batch processing is commonly used.&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">To make this clear I&rsquo;ll give you an example: In the music recording industry, artists will write, play and record music, produce it into format, design album artwork, prepare a marketing campaign and schedule a tour of concerts to promote the new album. All of this is generally done <em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><strong>BEFORE</strong></em> the customer hears a single song. <em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">That</em> is batch processing.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">On the other hand, you have real-time processing. An example would be an artist writing and recording a song, putting it on their blog (and Twitter, Facebook, etc.) for the customer to listen to. At that time, the artist can then interact in real-time and get instant feedback from the listener as to weather the music is what they&rsquo;re interested in or not. The artist can then structure the rest of the album around what the customers wants to hear and would be interested in purchasing. That is real-time processing. Another example would be the American Idol process of finding stars that people&nbsp;are interested in. The whole&nbsp;framework is based on real-time processing.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">This example is a basic one, but I&rsquo;m sure you get the idea. Real-time processing is the wave of the future for technology. If you can process information in real-time instead of waiting for a certain amount of data you will be leaps and bounds ahead of your competition.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;"><strong>#2 &ndash; Augmented Reality</strong></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">This concept was found in 2009, but not widely used. However, I believe we will see more and more companies use augmented reality to attract customers in 2010.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">Augmented reality(AR) is fueled by GPS, mapping data from sites like Google and MapQuest along with the speedy technology from today&rsquo;s smartphones. AR is basically the overlaying of data on top of your current environment. In other words, imagine walking down the street looking for a place to eat. As you walk you notice a slew of restaurants ahead, so you pull out your smartphone and point it in the direction of the restaurants. At an instant you&rsquo;re connected to customer reviews of the restaurants and what you can expect on their menu if you venture inside.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">When using Layar, for instance, a picture from your smartphone&rsquo;s video camera is overlaid with bubbles of information from Wikipedia, Yelp, Google Search and Twitter. This will empower customer&rsquo;s and individuals to collect data in real-time about what interests them while they&rsquo;re on the move. As cool as this is&hellip; I&rsquo;m still a little leary to how it will become useful in years to come, but in 2010 I believe this will become mainstream.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;"><strong>#3 &ndash; Mobile Marketing</strong></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">This is something I&rsquo;ve been touting for the past year. With the recent debacle of Google purchasing AdMob, one of the world&rsquo;s largest mobile advertising networks, I believe 2010 will be the breakthrough year for mobile marketing. With Apple&rsquo;s iPhone gaining more and more ground in the mobile market and Google stepping up with their Android Operating System(OS) it will only be a matter of time (months) before mobile marketing is mainstream for big businesses. Along with that will come mobile payment processing.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">Imagine you&rsquo;re at the store about to purchase some items at the checkout. Instead of swiping your credit card to purchase the items you scan your smartphone and put it on your phone bill. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">Sounds weird to us here in the U.S., but much of Asia has already embraced this technology. Businesses like PayPalX and Amazon are developing platforms to make this a reality. I can certainly understand the optimism and hesitation, but let&rsquo;s take a look at the recent credit crunch and market meltdowns. Credit card companies and banks are getting beat up with the slow economy. Will it only be a matter of time before they start to look at alternatives to getting customer&rsquo;s business? Will they look to merge with service providers to enhance their foothold in the mobile market? Only time will tell, but it is evident that this technology will become available in 2010 and beyond.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">*****</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">Realistically, I could go on forever about my predictions for 2010 and the coming Decade, but I&rsquo;ll leave it at this for now. As we come out of the Information Age and venture into the Attention Age it will be interesting to see how the market reacts to the ever increasing technology trends.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;"><strong>Ron Reed</strong></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;">P.S. &ndash; Leave a comment and let me know what you think 2010 will bring in relation to <strong>future trends in technology</strong>.</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">Today, in this blog post, we take the TEAM concept a step further with the principle of the MASTERMIND.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"><strong>What is a Mastermind, you ask?</strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">Well, it’s an alliance of two or more people working in perfect harmony with a positive mental attitude for the attainment of a definite end.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">In other words, it’s a dedicated group of people who share common interests, beliefs, perspectives and purposes in common, who believe that the power of the “group mind” is exponentially more powerful than the sum of the individual minds from which the group is made up of.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">The concept of the Mastermind was first introduced to me through Napoleon Hill in his book “Think and Grow Rich”.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">This book had a profound affect on me. Not only as an entrepreneur, but as a person. Therefore, it will become obvious that many of the statements and concepts you read on this blog have been influenced by his teachings.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span><strong><span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span><span><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span><span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span style="font-size: medium;"><span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Step #1</span> – Surround Yourself with a Mastermind Alliance</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></strong></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">Today, whenever I ask an ultra-successful individual to what they owe their success they almost always trace it back to the work of their Mastermind groups and the people they surround themselves with.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">It goes without saying that if an individual wants to change something drastic in their life they almost always have to change their habits. And most often than not, if they want to see a significant difference, they have to change the people they surround themselves with.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span><span><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span><span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span style="font-size: medium;"><span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;">If you want to become healthy, mentally and physically, would you surround yourself with negative people who eat every meal at McDonalds??<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Of course not!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">It’s the same with money. If you want to increase your income it would be wise to surround yourself with people who make the kind of money you wish to make.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">We humans are significantly influenced by everything that happens around us. Not necessary by what we hear, see, or feel… instead, we’re influenced by the PEOPLE around us.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">The ole’ peer-pressure gimmick. It’s real and it exists in all of us. In fact, we literally become the person we surround ourselves with.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">I now know that without the proper application of the Mastermind principles it is impossible to achieve high levels of success and sustain it.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">It is to say that unless you connect your mind to the minds of other people, use their education, their temperament, their foresight… and sometimes even their capital, you’ll never get very far.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">All of the great achievements … Microsoft, Google, Apple, General Electric, Ford Motors, JC Penney, Wal-Mart, etc are the results of Mastermind Alliances and the use of other people’s money (capital-ventures).</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">The Mastermind principle is the medium which one can procure the full benefits of the experience, training, and specialized knowledge of others of influence. It’s almost as if their mind was your own.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">For example, take the life of Thomas A. Edison who was thrown out of school and sent home because he was told he had an addled mind. He was told he couldn’t study with “normal” people because he was too dumb… unable to be educated. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">In the end, he never went back to school again.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">He didn’t have specialized knowledge in any of the sciences; however, he selected as his major purpose in life a calling that demanded he use ALL the sciences.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">He had to have technical ability, scientific training and a variety of other specialized knowledge, yet he had none of those.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">And what did he do about it?</span></span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">He did what every ultra-successful person does when they undertake something that is beyond the realm of their achievements…</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">… he surrounded himself with people who did have those abilities, people who did understand chemistry, people who did understand physics, people who had the necessary training the he didn’t possess.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">He told them WHAT to do… and they showed him HOW to do it.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">In every instance where you find an ultra-successful person in any calling, you will find that their success is the result of a Mastermind Alliance of one sort or another.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">Through the experience and knowledge of a marketer… one may make practical use of marketing without being a trained marketer.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">Incidentally, one may choose as their major purpose in life anything they desire, and even though they may not have the education, they can easily bridge that deficiency by surrounding themselves with people who do have that knowledge and education.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><strong><span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span><span><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span><span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span style="font-size: medium;"><span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Step #2</span> – Actively Participate in REGULAR Mastermind Sessions</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">If you’ve ever experienced a roundtable session or a “hot seat” session, or been involved in an organized meeting with a common objective and started talking about any problem or any subject… you’ll find that as the discussion goes on you will learn more and more about that subject.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>And often times the person that will come forth with the most enlightening conversation on the subject will be the one who knows the least about it.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">The reason for this is because the harmony of minds enables the individual minds to tune into sources of information not available to you under any other circumstance.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span style="font-size: medium;"><span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">**<strong>WARNING</strong> – this is where things get a little freaky and “new-age” as in the movie, <span style="text-decoration: underline;">The Secret</span>. **</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"> </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">The Mastermind Alliance takes the mind and steps it up to higher levels of thought where you can tune in on the ether that connects your conscious brain to the subconscious brains of others. And, perhaps, jumps up your brain waves to levels that connect your thinking brain to sources of Infinite Intelligence.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">Sounds a little weird and difficult to comprehend, but let’s use a valid example.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>In Dr. Hill’s book he talks about the likeness of the human brain to an electric battery.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>It is a well-known fact that a group of electric batteries will form more energy than a single battery.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">Further more, it is also known that an individual battery will provide energy in proportion to the number of cells it contains.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">Therefore, just like a single flashlight will only produce a certain amount of light… a group of flashlights will always be brighter because of each individual’s light energy.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">The human brain works in a similar fashion – a group of brains which are connected or coordinated on a single goal, in a spirit of harmony, will provide more thought energy than a single brain.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">With this analogy, you can see that “no two or more minds ever come together without, therefore, creating a third, invisible, tangible force which may be likened to a third mind.”</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">Freaky, I know.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>But dig through your past when you were involved in deep discussion about a single goal with two or more people. The creative juices were flowing!</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">Granted, there are times when it’s just not working, but that’s most likely because you weren’t in perfect harmony with the other members.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">So again, an active alliance of two or more minds working in perfect harmony for the attainment of a common objective stimulates each individual’s mind to a higher degree of confidence and courage than that which is ordinarily experienced, and prepares the way for that state of mind known as faith.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">In conclusion, I can only hope this blog has helped you realize the benefits from obtaining your own Mastermind Alliance. It is essential to your growth.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana, geneva;">For me, I’ve found one of the best Mastermind Alliances in the home with my best friend/girlfriend. She has enlightened my world and continually helps me excel in every conceivable way possible. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: verdana,geneva;">I highly recommend Napoleon Hill’s book “Think and Grow Rich”. <p>&nbsp;Ever heard the phrase:&nbsp; &#8220;Knowledge is power&#8221;?</p>
<p>Of course&#8230; it&#8217;s been around since Gandhi, right?</p>
<p>However, do you believe in it?&nbsp; Do you believe that knowledge is power?</p>
<p>Recently, I had a passionate debate with an individual over this phrase.&nbsp; We wrestled back and forth over the validity of the concept.</p>
<p>You see, for him, he went to college for 8 years, racked up $100,000 in student loans, lives in his parent&#8217;s basement to pay down the massive debt, and is still looking for the girl of his dreams at 30 years old&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8230; oh, and I almost forgot&#8230; he also firmly believes in the concept of &#8220;<strong>knowledge is power</strong>&#8220;.</p>
<p>He went to school for 8 years to load his brain full of knowledge only before taking another year to finally land a job in his desired field.&nbsp; And more power to him&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8230; however, is this really what the ultra-successful do to obtain <em>that</em> title?</p>
<p>Personally, I think NO!</p>
<p>Who ever sold us on that plan is smoking some funky stuff!&nbsp; Seriously.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t get me wrong&#8230; I&#8217;m all for getting an education and applying yourself in the real world, but some of the ways our education system is set-up is ludacris.</p>
<p>Instead of knowledge equaling power&#8230;</p>
<p>.. the <em>USE</em> of knowledge is power.</p>
<p>To me, knowledge is worthless unless it&#8217;s put to use.</p>
<p>Unless you actually <em>use</em> the knowledge you&#8217;ve obtained it remains <em>useless</em>.</p>
<p>- ((&#8230;)) -</p>
<p>So, I come to you today on a simliar line of thought with <strong>Speed of Implementation</strong>.</p>
<p>I learned of this concept from my mentor, Eben Pagan, during his top-gun entrepreneurial training program titled <a href="http://www.getaltitude.com" target="_blank" title="Get Altitude">Altitude</a>.&nbsp; In the program he talks about the concept of <strong>Speed of Implementation</strong>, and pondered the idea that it&#8217;s the most distinct trait which separates the ultra-successful from their counterparts.</p>
<p><strong>Speed of Implementation</strong>:&nbsp; the difference between the time you hear something and the time you put it into action.</p>
<p>Many people (98% of modern society)&nbsp;make the mistake of assuming that if you load your head with an abundance of knowledge you will automatically become successful.</p>
<p>Nothing could be further from the truth!</p>
<p>Instead, the ultra-successful are usually the first to TAKE ACTION.</p>
<p>They don&#8217;t necessarily have all the knowledge&nbsp;which allows one to advance to the next level.&nbsp; Instead, they possess the unique trait of knowing that if they take action today they&#8217;ll be further ahead tomorrow than those who lack action.</p>
<p>In other words, failures do not achieve the level of success they desire because they fail to take the appropriate actions needed to advance to higher levels.</p>
<p>You name it&#8230; procrastination, perfectionism, lack of confidence, low self-esteem, fear, etc.&nbsp; They all amount to a deficiency in the &#8220;take action 101&#8243; department.</p>
<p>However, the ultra-successful individuals hear a new concept or a new idea and&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8230; <strong>BAM!! </strong>&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8230; they put it into action IMMEDIATELY!</p>
<p>They don&#8217;t sit around thinking about it, or say to themselves, &#8220;<em>oh, I dunno&#8230; maybe we should think about this first, or run it by 32 of our friends who aren&#8217;t that successful to see what they think of it.&#8221;</em></p>
<p>No, they put it into action RIGHT NOW!!</p>
<p>Granted, I know I&#8217;m being a little over-the-top here, and fully realize there is a point where you need to&nbsp;<em>plan</em> your course of action&nbsp;<strong>before</strong> diving in head-first&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8230; but I&#8217;m sure you can clearly see the point I&#8217;m trying to make.</p>
<p>I think if you look around to the successful people in your life or the successful people you&#8217;ve seen in other areas of your life you&#8217;ll find they have this trait in common.</p>
<p>Now, I know I&#8217;m going to hear some people say that knowledge is very important.&nbsp; And indeed it is!&nbsp; By no means do I want to come across as an ignorant man by discrediting the importance of proper education and specialized knowledge.&nbsp; That&#8217;s not the purpose here.</p>
<p>In the end, what I&#8217;m trying to say is, do you really need to have all the knowledge in your <em>own</em> brain?</p>
<p>Do we need to know everything?&nbsp; Do we need to know every minute detail?&nbsp; Every single idea?&nbsp; Every inkling known to man?&nbsp; Of course not&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8230; but, we need to know as much as possible about our given&nbsp;career, right??</p>
<p>Wrong!&nbsp; <img src='http://www.whoisronreed.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>To illustrate my point&#8230; below you&#8217;ll find a story about the Great Henry Ford from one of my favorite books &#8220;<em>Think and Grow Rich</em>&#8221; by Napoleon Hill.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>=========================================</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><span style="font-family: terminal,monaco;">The &ldquo;Ignorant&rdquo; Man Who Made a Fortune</span></span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><span style="font-family: terminal,monaco;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><span style="font-family: terminal, monaco;">During the First World War, a Chicago newspaper published certain editorials in which, among other statements, Henry Ford was called &ldquo;an ignorant pacifist&rdquo;. Mr. Ford objected to the statement, and brought suit against the paper for libeling him. When the suit was tried in the courts, the attorneys for the paper pleaded justification, and place Mr. Ford, himself, on the witness stand, for the purpose of proving to the jury that he was ignorant. The attorneys asked Mr. Ford a great variety of questions, all of them intended to prove, by his own evidence that, while he might possess considerable specialized knowledge pertaining to the manufacture of automobiles, he was, in the main, ignorant.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><span style="font-family: terminal,monaco;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><span style="font-family: terminal,monaco;">Mr. Ford was plied with such questions as the following:</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><span style="font-family: terminal,monaco;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><span style="font-family: terminal, monaco;">&ldquo;Who was Benedict Arnold?&rdquo; and &ldquo; How many soldiers did the British send over to America to put down the Rebellion of 1776?&rdquo; In answer to the last question, Mr. Ford replied, &ldquo;I do not know the exact number of soldiers the British sent over, but I have heard that it was a considerably larger number than ever went back.&rdquo;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><span style="font-family: terminal,monaco;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><span style="font-family: terminal, monaco;">Finally, Mr. Ford became tired of this line of questioning, and in reply to a particularly offensive question, he leaned over, pointed his finger at the lawyer who had asked the question and said, &ldquo; If I should really want to answer the foolish question you have just asked, or any of the other questions you have been asking me, let me remind you that I have a row of electric push-buttons on my desk, and by pushing the right button, I can summon to my aid men who can answer any question I desire to ask concerning the business in which I am devoting most of my efforts. Now, you will kindly tell me, why should I clutter up my mind with general knowledge, for the purpose of being able to answer questions, when I have men around me who can supply any knowledge I require?&rdquo;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><span style="font-family: terminal,monaco;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><span style="font-family: terminal,monaco;">There certainly was good logic to that reply.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><span style="font-family: terminal,monaco;">&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><span style="font-family: terminal, monaco;">The answer floored the lawyer. Every person in the courtroom realized it was the answer, not of an ignorant man, but of a man of education. Any person is educated who knows where to get knowledge when they need it, and how to organize that knowledge into definite plans of action. Through the assistance of his &ldquo;<strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">Master Mind</strong>&rdquo; group Henry Ford had at his command all the specialized knowledge he need to enable him to become one of the wealthiest men in America. <em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">It was not essential that he have this knowledge in his own mind.</em></span></span></p>
<p>=========================================</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>In my next blog, we&#8217;ll uncover and discuss the concept of the &#8220;<strong>Master Mind</strong>&#8220;.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m a few weeks behind in writing this post, but the stats are in so let&#8217;s take a look.</p>
<p>To start us off, let me preface by saying it is in my humble opinion that the Internet is a completely different media than more traditional methods.  Like, say, newspapers or television.  Along with this opinion comes the thought that Internet users are also a completely different creature in nature. </p>
<p>Allow me to demonstrate:</p>
<p>It appears the media pendulum is continuing to swing in favor of online consumption.  According to <strong>Pew Research Center</strong>, 35% of people prefer to get their &#8220;fix&#8221; of national and international news from traditional print media.  This is a dismal 1% increase over 2007.  However, in comparison to the Internet, nearly 40% of people prefer to get their news fix from the online sources.  This is an exciting 24% increase over 2007.</p>
<p>On the flip side, while this number is impressive it is also premature to think the Internet is the &#8220;end all, be all&#8221;.  According to the numbers it doesn&#8217;t even come close to the 70% of people who prefer to get their news fix via television.  Hardly surprising.</p>
<p>In other polling news, my favorite Internet polling source (<strong>comScore</strong>) has released their list of the <a title="Top Social Media Sites of 2008" href="http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/12/31/top-social-media-sites-of-2008-facebook-still-rising/" target="_blank">Top Social Media Sites of 2008</a>.  An initial look at the list may surprise you.  For me, I was almost certain <strong>Facebook</strong> or <strong>Youtube</strong> would top the list.  My assumption (like yours if you agree) would be incorrect.</p>
<p>So, who tops the list?  Well, according to the research firm, <strong>Blogger.com</strong> takes the cake with over 222 million unique users worldwide in 2008.  Impressive!</p>
<p>Clocking in at number 2 and 3 are the social networking juggernauts <strong>Facebook</strong> and <strong>Myspace</strong> respectively.  <strong>Facebook</strong> commanded 200 million unique users while <strong>Myspace</strong> maintains 126 million users.  I suppose this opens up the airwaves for critics and Facebookers alike to claim &#8220;king of the hill&#8221; in regards to the ongoing duel between <strong>Facebook</strong> and <strong>Myspace</strong>.  My personal views are:  To each their own.  I&#8217;m a member of both sites and utilize each in different ways while liking/disliking features on each.  In the end, <strong>Facebook</strong> has a cleaner look while <strong>Myspace</strong> promotes individuality.  Again, to each their own opinion.</p>
<p>Further down the list you&#8217;ll find sites like <strong>Wordpress</strong> catering to 114 million users, <strong>Window Live Spaces</strong> with 87 million users and <strong>Flickr</strong> with 64 million users.  It was too my surprise that <strong>YouTube</strong> didn&#8217;t even partake in the Top 20.  It can be explained by the mere fact that people would prefer to WATCH videos rather than MAKE videos.  In other words, you don&#8217;t have to open a <strong>YouTube</strong> account to watch videos.  While this doesn&#8217;t affect the number of views it most certainly affects &#8220;users&#8221; which is a basis of the list.  In terms of views/visits, <strong>YouTube</strong> is a powerhouse.</p>
<p>Another interesting statistical &#8220;stat&#8221; lies in the percentage swings from previous years.  For example, <strong>Window Live Spaces</strong> was down 22% from 2007 while <strong>Wordpress</strong> was up 68%.  Kinda puts things into perspective.  Other percentile differences include the Alpha Dog, <strong>Blogger.com</strong>, demanding a 44% increase from November 2007.  I, personally, thought that would be significantly lower with the growing demand for <strong>Wordpress</strong> blogs.  I&#8217;m now eating my words as the defending king takes the throne for yet another year.</p>
<p>In terms of percentages, the warp-speed increase of <strong>Facebook</strong> has catapulted an astounding 116% over 2007.  This doesn&#8217;t come to much surprise considering everybody and their brother has a <strong>Facebook</strong> account.  Heck, I know some people who juggle multiple accounts for varying purposes (i.e.: business and personal).  As for <strong>Myspace</strong>, they&#8217;ve managed to remain steady between 2007 and 2008.  I predict this number will start to subside as <strong>Facebook</strong> continues to snatch up the social networking &#8220;market share&#8221;.</p>
<p>Speaking of predictions, allow me to toss out another one to you.  I predict <strong>Twitter.com</strong> will have a percentage increase and user base similar to <strong>Facebook</strong> by the end of 2009.  I&#8217;ll leave this blog up all year as a way to either eat my words or baske in my glory.  Only time will tell.</p>
<p>In any event, below you will find the top 20 social networking list received from <strong>comScore</strong>.  It&#8217;s most definitely not a conclusive or definitive list, but it gives a good idea of what&#8217;s going on out there in the world of social networking sites.  Realistically, this list is more of a social media list than it is social networking, but whatever.  That&#8217;s for another day.</p>
<p>1. <strong>Blogger.com</strong> (222 million)</p>
<p>2. <strong>Facebook</strong> (200 million)</p>
<p>3. <strong>MySpace</strong> (126 million)</p>
<p>4. <strong>Wordpress</strong> (114 million)</p>
<p>5. <strong>Windows Live Spaces</strong> (87 million)</p>
<p>6. <strong>Yahoo Geocities</strong> (69 million)</p>
<p>7. <strong>Flickr</strong> (64 million)</p>
<p>8. <strong>hi5</strong> (58 million)</p>
<p>9. <strong>Orkut</strong> (46 million)</p>
<p>10. <strong>Six Apart</strong> (46 million)</p>
<p>11. <strong>Baidu Space</strong> (40 million)</p>
<p>12. <strong>Friendster</strong> (31 million)</p>
<p>13. <strong>56.com</strong> (29 million)</p>
<p>14. <strong>Webs.com</strong> (24 million)</p>
<p>15. <strong>Bebo</strong> (24 million)</p>
<p>16. <strong>Scribd</strong> (23 million)</p>
<p>17. <strong>Lycos Tripod</strong> (23 million)</p>
<p>18. <strong>Tagged</strong> (22 million)</p>
<p>19. <strong>imeem</strong> (22 million)</p>
<p>20. <strong>Netlog</strong> (21 million)</p>
<p><span style="font-size: xx-small;">(Here&#8217;s another screenshot from comScore:)</span></p>
<p><img src="http://www.whoisronreed.com/wp-content/uploads/eee29bed69c64c0.bmp" border="0" alt="" width="496" height="404" /></p>
<p>In conclusion, I found these statistics informative and intriguing to say the least. I hope you do as well.</p>

<p>Forbes.com has released its list of the top 10 cities for job growth in 2009, and my &ldquo;neck-of-the-woods&rdquo; tops the list!</p>
<p>Madison, WI.</p>
<p>I&rsquo;ve been living in Madison, WI for about 5 years now.&nbsp; I love it!&nbsp; Good peeps.</p>
<p>According to <a href="http://www.forbes.com/" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.forbes.com');"><span style="color: #004477;">www.forbes.com</span></a>, Madison has an unusually healthy outlook for job growth and a strikingly low unemployment rate of 3.5% in October 2008 (when the&nbsp;national rate was 6.5%).</p>
<p>Technically, the list is compiled by Ajilon Professional Staffing.&nbsp; They start their research by examining the Bureau of Labor Statistics&rsquo; Metropolitan Area Jobs Report, which&nbsp;was published in October 2008.&nbsp; They examine cities with the lowest unemployment rate and highest number of new jobs created in the previous six months.&nbsp; At that point, they combine various evidence to pinpoint why the top 10 cities have the best employment situations.</p>
<p>Interesting huh?</p>
<p>With that in mind&hellip; if you&rsquo;re looking for a job you should consider Madison, WI.</p>
<p>Hope this helps!</p>
